Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Co-op Academy Southfield. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to access learning activities and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering a differentiated and challenging curriculum
  • Provide personal care to students and administer medication as required
  • Support students with special needs and disabilities to access learning activities and communicate effectively
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the safety and well-being of students
  • Relate well to students and adults, adapting methods to meet the needs of different students
  • Assist with the implementation of individual students' Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Behaviour Plans, and NHS Care Plans
Requirements
  • Experience of working with young people with special educational needs or disabilities
  • Experience of behaviour management or physical intervention
  • NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification
  • Good communication skills
