We're Hiring: Behaviour Support Worker

A Primary Pupil Referral Unit School located in Leyland is seeking dedicated full-time behaviour support workers to assist its pupils. You will play a crucial role in supporting students aged reception to Year 6 with their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. These students might have faced permanent exclusion from their previous school and might exhibit challenging behavior. Your role will involve skillfully managing and de-escalating difficult situations. As a behaviour support worker, you will be responsible for implementing an EHC Plan for each student to enhance their learning and growth.

To excel in this role, prior experience in supporting children/young adults with additional needs is a must. While experience in an educational environment is preferred, individuals with a background in support work or care are also encouraged to apply. What we value the most is your genuine passion for making a difference, confidence in your abilities, and eagerness to grow.

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan work and activities.
  • Provide support to pupils either individually or in group settings.
  • Assist the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting student progress and behavior.
  • Facilitate and nurture students' cognitive, emotional, and physical development and well-being.

Key Information:

  • Position is full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30pm). Immediate start or 1st September 2024.
  • Term-time commitment.
  • PAYE contract.
  • Specialist SEMH Provision.
  • Located in Leyland (PR25).
  • Competitive hourly pay starting at £12.90+, dependent on experience and responsibilities.
