Your Job Responsibilities (Senior Childcare practitioner)
As a Senior Childcare practitioner, you will support the children in the homes, establishing a quality led service. You will develop safe, professional, supportive, and nurturing relationships with the children.

Being a Senior Childcare practitioner holds a lot of responsibility.

These include but are not limited to:

  • Having responsibility for the running of your shift as the man point of call.
  • Having the responsibility of decision making in line with policy and procedure and the individual child's risk assessment.
  • To ensure the homes documentation is complete, accurate, and kept up to date in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • To promote therapeutic practice within the home in line with our PACE model and lead a team on a daytoday basis.
  • To be a positive role model for the children of the home.
The shift patterns are full time, which will include evening work, Weekends, and bank holidays. Regular sleep-ins are required (up to 10 sleep-ins a month). Each sleep-in is paid at £60.

Reports to Homes registered manager & deputy manager

Salary


The Salary is dependent on experience and the role starts at £24,180.00, based on 162 hours per month, and does not include enhanced rates for sleep ins.


Skills and Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be over 2
  • Must have at least 1 years' experience shift leading.
  • Must have minimum 2 years' experience in the residential childcare sector
The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
