Health Care Assistant- Day Surgery and Pre

Are you interested in looking after patients undergoing day surgery?
Day surgery services and main theatre services are now managed by one team. The service has two sites delivering care at Basildon and Orsett Hospitals.
In this role you will work as a competent member of the day surgery team, performing a wide range of duties in all areas and across two sites which includes the elective admission lounge.
You will undertake the training and mentorship of the junior staff as well as educating clinicians new to the department on the workings of both units.
The post holder will support the trained members of staff in making the day surgery unit safe and pleasant for patients and staff and will be expected to undergo training as necessary.
Your role will be to assist the trained nurses in the care of the pre and post operative patients. This will include admitting patients and helping them mobilise them after surgery.
Your role will also include working in thePre AssessmentClinic where you will be responsible for assisting trained nurses in the assessment and preparation of patients for their upcoming surgery.
