We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and analytical individual to lead the benefits identification and realisation of digital solutions and improvement initiatives to support ongoing transformational change within the RNOH.


Reporting to the Head of Programmes and the EPR Programme Manager, as Benefits Lead you will work across an extensive and varied digital transformation and improvement portfolio with a variety of change professionals and operational leaders, providing advice, support and challenge on the management of programme and project benefits.

You will be part of a diverse and innovative team and will be working within a dynamic and modern environment where ideas are shared and valued.


The role of Benefits Lead will give you the opportunity to carry out analysis of complex qualitative and quantitative data and information providing decision-makers with the insight on expected benefits for the RNOH's transformation portfolio and the delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.


Reporting to the Head of Programmes and the EPR Programme Manager, the post holder will be part of the multi-disciplinary Improvement and Transformation Team and will lead the creation of a framework for measuring and demonstrating impact to enable the Trust's continuous improvement journey.


The post holder willbe responsible for the definition and implementation of a benefits realisation methodology and tool kit across the Trust and work across an extensive and varied digital transformation and improvement portfolio with a variety of change professionals and operational leaders, providing advice, coaching and support and challenge on the management of programme and project benefits.


The RNOH is planning to deploy a new EPR which will lead to the transformation of care at the hospital.

It's an opportunity to improve how we work as a team, make care safer and support staff to spend time on the things that make the biggest difference to patients.

The RNOH has just signed off the Outline Business Case (OBC) for a new EPR and is in the process of implementing a benefits framework and approach (as defined by NHS Digital) and mobilising a Benefits work stream.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the implementation of the benefits strategy and realisation of all Improvement and Transformation projects, as well as the EPR Programme.
  • Responsible for developing a highlevel plan for the realisation of quality and financial benefits in a way that supports the Trusts strategic objectives.
  • To mobilise and lead the EPR Benefits workstream and develop an approach and plan for the realisation of the quantitative and qualitative benefits as identified in the EPR business case and then working with the programme leadership and nominated clinical and operational stakeholders to identify, monitor and manage the benefit realisation through the various stages of the Programme.
  • Responsible for tracking benefits by interpreting complex information through the use of data metrics and insights to ensure maximum benefit is delivered from the Transformation and Improvement projects and as part of the Benefits Workstream within the EPR Programme
  • Coaching, leading and influencing a wide variety of clinical and operational change leaders at all levels to identify, capture, document, challenge and monitor benefits and articulate benefit realisation through the tracking process through the various stages of the projects or programme.
  • Undertaking regular reviews with the Programme and Project teams to identify, capture, assess and manage the benefits and disbenefits that arise throughout the course of project and programme deliver, and using this information to formulate recommendations of further actions need to meet the planned benefits and further improvement opportunities as well as providing clinical and operational leadership with important information which will drive planning and decisionmaking.
  • Hold overall accountability for monitoring the scope and progress of the benefits against the benefits realisation plan; reporting progress and expectations to the relevant Programme Boards and Governance committees and where appropriate external parties such as NHSE a
