PAU Café Bar is a newly launched, vibrant and exciting venue located in the bustling heart of Trentham Shopping Village, Stoke-on-Trent.


We offer a diverse menu of mouthwatering, freshly prepared dishes made with local seasonal ingredients and complemented with some really sensational cakes, along with soft drinks and alcohol, all delivered in a contemporary and inviting atmosphere.


Position Overview:

We've already recruited an awesome team and as our launch has gone so well, we have room for a few more enthusiastic and customer-focused front of house staff who'll play a crucial role in welcoming our guests and making sure that they have an enjoyable experience so that they keep coming back As part of our Front of House team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly, seat them quickly and take the first step towards creating a fantastic first impression that'll keep them coming back for more.
  • Excellent communication skills are an absolute must.
  • Provide a prompt and efficient table service, accurately taking and submitting customer orders, whether for food, beverages,
  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and soft drinks along with a range of alcoholic beverages*.
  • Serve prepared food and drinks promptly and professionally, adhering to quality standards.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items (including ingredients, allergens, etc), daily specials, and promotions.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately, using the POS system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front of house area, including tables, counters, and seating areas.
  • Ensure a pleasant dining experience.
  • Collaborate with the chef to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Attend to customer enquiries, concerns, and feedback in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Drive sales by upselling products and highlighting promotions.
  • Assist in setting up and closing down the cafe bar each day, including cleaning and restocking.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in planning and organizing special events eg, themed nights.
*as a licensed venue, our team must ideally meet the legal UK age requirements to serve alcohol.

Qualifications & skills:

  • Previous experience in a customerfacing role in the hospitality industry is a deal breaker.
  • Previous experience in a high quality, table service environment would be a definite advantage.
  • Personality is key you'll need a positive attitude, a teamoriented mindset, a great sense of humour, an infectious smile and the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, approachable demeanor with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service is a must.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to work well under pressure and handle busy periods effectively.
  • Knowledge of coffee and experience serving alcoholic beverages is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Food hygiene certification is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
