Job Description
Detect container defects relevant to line for which responsibility is held to ensure containers meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities

  • Gauge the bottles in order to ensure they meet the necessary specifications in accordance with the procedures stated in the Company Quality Manual.
  • Carry out visual checks of the bottles each hour in order to detect any occurring defects so that they can be dealt with as quickly as possible in order to minimise loss.
  • Communicate with the hot end verbally and via the APS, in order to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Report any occurrences on a log sheet in order to maintain an accurate reference point.
  • Carry out specified tests: pressure, coating, capacity and weight at regular intervals in order to ensure that bottles meet necessary specifications, and that quality is maintained.
  • Observe the performance of the cold end equipment both directly and via PIC/APS reacting to any changes to avoid quality or efficiency problems.
  • Report any equipment or mechanical malfunctions as quickly as possible to the correct persons to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Assists during and after a job change in order to establish and maintain effective operations.
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Carry out housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules.
  • Shadow the Quality Control Team Leader in order to learn all aspects of the Team Leader role.
  • Attend supervisory development programmes/training.

Requirements:

Awareness of Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
Awareness of Company Hygiene Rules and Procedures
Understanding of the relevant terminology relating to defects, specification and process.

Understanding of work instructions and procedures:

  • Packed Ware Audit/Rework
  • Job Change
Understanding of specifications of the Company Quality Plan

Understanding of standard operating/quality control procedures

Familiarity with inspection equipment and work areas.

What we offer
Competitive salary based on Grade 4 of the harmonised pay scales. Maximum of the grade £38,417.00
