Band 4 - Advanced Physiotherapy Assistant

Currently the role is split between the Medicine and ICU/Surgery teams; however there may be a possibility of the position becoming rotational to include more clinical areas in the future.

You will work as part of a dynamic and supportive team, where staff uphold the Trust values in all aspects of their job roles.

To work as a member of the physiotherapy team in a rotational capacity displaying advanced assistant skills working under the guidance of a qualified Physiotherapist. To assist Physiotherapists across a range of settings and department at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust working alongside other members of the MDT. To support the delivery of high quality patient focused care. To develop skills under the guidance of a Physiotherapist. To support the Physiotherapy Assistants body in seeking opportunities to identify and engage in developments in practice and support the development of peers. To provide training, advice and education to other assist colleagues. To support the development of a learning based culture. This will include the provision of training, supervision and appraisal for fellow Physiotherapy Assistants

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have extensive NHS experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant and be competent in basic assessment, treatment and teaching skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust's values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence.

Regular appraisal, supervision and support will be given and there is a requirement to actively participate in the development of your peers.
