Following the success of the 2024 pilot, we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Coordinator to support the development and delivery of a public Sky Gardening Challenge across Greater Manchester in 2025.This is a great chance to help create a dynamic public campaign, engaging competition, and targeted support package, and contribute to nature-based programming at the forefront of NT’s work in cities, and could be a good development opportunity for the right candidate.
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £28548 FTE
Contract: Fixed for 12 months

What it's like to work here
You’ll be part of the Innovation and Partnership Team: a national team working with properties and partners in cities to test practical, scalable and replicable ways of others to improve people’s access to nature, beauty and history.
As one of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll be working with internal specialists and operational teams, and external stakeholders and partners to help make great things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust Manchester Hub. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Project Coordinator, you would support development and delivery of Sky Gardening Challenge 2025 across Greater Manchester.Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting development and delivery of Sky Gardening Challenge 2025, specifically supporting the Project Manager to develop and deliver plans, and ensure the project delivers proposed benefits within scope, time, and budget
- Supporting the Project Manager to identify and realise funding and partnership opportunities, working with the Product Development Manager for the Sky Gardening Challenge and consultants
- Supporting the Project Manager to deliver key elements of Sky Gardening Challenge 2025, including public campaign, digital/print resources, competition, and targeted on-the-ground support package, acting as day-to-day contact with consultants, operational colleagues, partners, and suppliers as required
- Highlighting risks and issues to the Project Manager as required and supporting the Project Manager to mitigate them
- Supporting project evaluation
Who we're looking for
We will be looking for someone who has:
- Knowledge of National Trust systems and processes
- Practical experience of providing project management support and advice
- Previous experience of supporting and/or coordinating projects
- Experience working with external suppliers, partners and/or stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong people skills, enabling good working relationships
- Ability to work well in a team, building relationships and sharing ideas in an open and constructive way
- Good IT skills
