Salary: £20,906.25 per annum
Hours: 37.5hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed Term -12 Months Contract, Term Time only

Aspart of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunityfor a 1:1 Alternative Provision Instructor/ Support Worker to joinour close-knit team at Belmont Secondary School located inRawtenstall.
About therole
Under the direction ofthe Head Teacher, SENCo and Alternative Provision Lead, carryout the professional duties of a 1:1 Instructor bysupporting the designated pupil in educational activities withoutside agencies and Coordinating and implementing other activitiesand lessons as applicable to raise attainment for the pupil withspecific barriers to learning, raising attainment to ensure thepupil makes the required progress.
PrimaryResponsibilities:
- In partnershipwith the Alternative Provision Lead ensure the provisionof an appropriately broad, balanced, relevantand differentiated curriculum that is appropriate for thepupil you are supporting that meets his needs andinterests.
- To contribute to raising thestandards and attainment for the individual pupil you supportwhilst providing appropriate activities to promote a positiveconfidence in pupil’s own ability.
- Tofacilitate and encourage a learning experience whichprovides the student you support with theopportunity to achieve their full potential.
- Work with the pupil you support on a 1:1basis to improvetheir numeracy and literacy skills, and complete the relevantassessments to show the relevant progress being made.
- Help deliver the entry level, functional skills, AQA unitawards scheme and GCSE courses offered at the school and assistwith ensuring all applicable paperwork is completed, liaise withexams officer to ensure the pupil you support is entered forexaminations under direction of the teaching staff orSMT/SLT.
- Assist with departmental dataassessment entry and progression tracking and use this data toidentify pupil needs and where targeted support is mostneeded.
- Liaise with relevant staff and/orSMT/SLT to help facilitate learning through assisting withprocurement of resources, planning and implementation of lessonsand assist with work scrutiny and marking for the pupil you aresupporting.
- Ensure the provisions used holdthe relevant health and safety procedures in place, all therelevant risk assessments are completed and the procedures andimplementation of learning is up to date with latest curriculumdevelopments and best pedagogical practice.
- Comply with all wider school policies relating tosafeguarding of pupils and professional conduct.
- In the absence of the student you will be required toattend the school and support in the relevant areas required. Thisrole will be predominantly as a Support Worker but could includeother roles such as admin or pastoral support.
- To work closely with the Alternative Provision Lead andAssistant Head Teacher to ensure all the relevant checks and riskassessments are completed for all Educational Visits involving thepupil you support.
- To play a proactive part inensuring that all activities in place are relevant and suited tothe pupils needs.
