The J Marylebone Hotel is situated in the heart of London with 93 thoughtfully designed rooms. Our accommodations feature cutting-edge amenities such as sensor lighting for a seamless and comfortable stay. Centrally located in the heart of London, we provide easy access to the city's attractions, while our ground-floor restaurant offers a delightful buffet breakfast. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE MANAGER AT THE J MARYLEBONE

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the General Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following. 

  • Ensure that day to day maintenance tasks is responded and resolved efficiently and meets quality standards with minimal disruption to guests and hotel.
  • Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly PPM tasks to ensure overall compliance.
  • Maintain and update safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Oversee all maintenance operations and managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and controlling costs.
  • Liaise with the facilities teams as well as contractors for external maintenance work and ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety for the hotel and to oversee regular safety inspections including brand and internal audits.
  • We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year and need people to work a range of shifts and days - this means we can offer great flexibility if required.

To succeed in the role of Maintenance Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills. 

  • Strong technical knowledge of systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and pro-active approach
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software and tools.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role in a hotel, preferably at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
