Aday in this role looks like….

Asa Housing Management Officer atHestia, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic abuseservices.Your contributions will directly influence the livesof our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowermentand independence.

A day will never look the sameand some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible forare:

  • Manage an allocated patch ofproperties for housing management functions.
  • To ensure the housing management functions of health andsafety of the property, maintenance and voids control, are keptaccording to policy.
  • Management of serviceusers rent/charges collection, arrears avoidance control, debtmanagement
  • Under the direction of your lineManager, liaise with partner Registered Providers, ensuringadherence to Management Agreements
  • Agreementsign ups and exit meetings with service users
  • Management of service users DWP, Revenue andBenefits
  • Working with the Rents team to ensurenew service users have their rent accounts established
  • Supporting new service users to apply for welfarebenefits, including housing benefit and establish personal chargepayments
  • Undertaking any necessary legalaction, including leading on the pre action protocol
  • Providing weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reports toyour line Manager
  • Undertakedaily/weekly/monthly building health and safety.
  • Oversee and follow up on any repairs reported by staffand service users
  • Ensure that any repairs areactioned within the relevant timescales, keeping service users andsupport staff aware of progress and maintain records.
  • Working in partnership with support workers, LocalAuthorities and referrers
  • Maintain the safetyand security of the building, including leading on the completionof property risk assessments

  • An in-depth understanding of all aspects of housingmanagement
  • DWP, revenue and benefitslegislation knowledge.
  • Rent collection andarrears recovery management, plus an understanding of the preaction protocol
  • An understanding of civiloptions available to ensure the safety of the building
  • Knowledge and experience of move on options for peopleliving in supported accommodation
  • Computerliterate with the ability to use electronic recording systems toaccurately record data
  • A strong sense ofaccountability
  • An ability to lone andself-manage their own time
  • A high standard ofwritten and spoken English
  • Numerate with theability to analyse and present financial data to a range ofaudiences
  • Ability to achieve objective throughworking in partnership with internal and externalstakeholders
  • Able to work sensitively withservice users.
  • Able to visit accommodationsites to carry out service user meetings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues, drugand alcohol dependency and young persons support.
