As a Senior DA Underwriter, you’ll have responsibility for allocated DA portfolio’s and oversee all activities required for effective partnership. You’ll be handling business across our existing portfolio while helping us grow by onboarding opportunities. This means you’ll be in a Market facing role, so it’s important that you are great at communicating and have a built-in passion for doing the right thing for our customers.   

 

We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.

So, what will you be doing?  

Well, you can expect no two days to be the same, you’ll be working with your team and reporting into a Business Manager as well as interacting with key stakeholders, brokers, and intermediaries daily.   

As an Underwriting Lead, we need you to manage and oversight an allocated panel of DA’s as well as BAU activities. We need you to provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders and be responsible for delivering quality and timely solutions for them. This means taking ownership of own workload and supporting colleagues to deliver our collective workload - it’s all about being a team player  

 

As a senior member of the team a part of your role will be coaching and mentoring the junior members of the team and supporting them to develop. You will also have accountability and ownership for driving, analysing, and delivering a strong underwriting result across our portfolio.

So what are we looking for?  

  • You will have well established Property and Casualty Underwriting experience. 
  • You will have Delegated Authority experience.
  • Experience in Construction, Motor, or other lines of business would be beneficial but not essential.
  • We will help you to extend your knowledge of the group risk market and products, as well as all the technical bits but you’ll already be a strong communicator who is happy making a decision.  
  • We’d like you to be happy to challenge processes and decisions using your attention to detail.  
  • You’ll naturally adapt your style to different workloads and pressures and be able to think on your feet.
  • Organisation and the ability to prioritise is key, our customer is always foremost on our minds
