At an exciting time in its development, the University of Wolverhampton is seeking a new Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead their Digital Services team. Renowned for its commitment to widening participation and its diverse student body, the University places students at the centre of everything it does and positions itself as a driver of social and economic transformation.

The new CIO will provide strategic leadership to successfully envision, develop and implement the University’s Digital Strategy. Leading a central team of circa 80 staff, they will be responsible for ensuring that the University has the technical infrastructure and services, cyber resilience, and systems to fulfil its strategic objectives and business improvements. They will leverage knowledge of emerging digital technologies to further support the delivery of an excellent work and learning experience for staff and students alike. The CIO will sit on the University Executive Board and play an important role in the broader leadership of the University; they will foster constructive relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the institution, working as an ambassador for Digital Services.

Strong candidates will have demonstrable experience leading transformational IT initiatives in large, complex and dynamic environments coupled with a strong customer service ethos. They will be an inspiring leader with an enthusiastic presence who is able to take staff with them, empower their team and tackle complex challenges. They will have an innovative mindset, with the ability to pinpoint organisational strengths and make purposeful and achievable changes. They will be able to think strategically and plan for the long-term.
