What is the opportunity?

The implementation of the Group Risk Management Framework (RMF) plan will improve the Group's management of Non-Financial Risk through an improved risk management process and enhanced control environment. Leading the delivery of the implementation plan for Retail UK, as a subsidiary of the Group.

This exciting opportunity will give you the opportunity to collaborate with Group and Retail UK Senior Managers to ensure the successful delivery of the plan to challenging landmarks and tight timescales.

Travel will be required as part of the role, and please note this is a 12 to 18 month position.

Successful candidate can be based in Belfast or Bristol.

In this role you will:
  • Represent Retail UK on the Group Programme and be an interface between with the Group Programme and Individual Business Unit Senior Management within Retail UK.
  • Input into update papers and submissions for Board/Ex Co/ERC/RORC/BMC in relation to the delivery progress and implementation of the plan for Retail UK.
  • Establish and lead ad hoc working groups/initiatives as agreed with/requested by Head of Business Controls.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Senior Management Teams across Retail UK and positively influence the efficiency and effectiveness of their Risk Management within their commercial agenda.
  • Advise business owners on the design of new or updated KRIs and Controls and adequacy of existing ones in place to mitigate Operational, Conduct and Regulatory risks.
  • Provide risk expertise to the business unit teams, embedding and supervising the use of risk tools and frameworks within their operating processes

  • Strong Risk Management experience
  • Ability to provide intellectual difficulty to risk assessment and control design, development of business solutions and decision making
  • Current, in-depth knowledge of regulatory and industry guidelines and standard processes for risk management and mitigation within financial services
  • Strong financial and analytical savvy with the ability to lead a broad and diverse agenda
  • Consistent track record in Financial Services, Operations, or Risk Analysis with a good understanding of the operational risk frameworks
  • Excellent communication and partner leadership skills with proven track record to influence and build links both internally and externally at the highest levels, demonstrating emotional intelligence, resilience and independence as well as an ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills with excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
