Main purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business:

TECHNICAL LEAD

As a Technical Lead (Manager) in Kainos, you'll be responsible for design and delivery of a range of testing solutions (regression, targeted) for our Smart Products to circa 35 clients. The principal objective of the solution delivery is to maximise the return on investment for the client in Smart. Key responsibility is the effective management of a team of Test Consultants to achieve a pre-defined set of deliverables to include Smart Audit, Onboarding, Gold Reporting & Triage; Upsells; Renewals and the Silver and Platinum Services.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading & championing a team – you will be leading a team of Smart Test Consultants to ensure the deliverables achieve a high-level of return on investment in Smart. Responsible for mentoring and growing the team.
  • Providing leadership – Using your professional expertise to mentor and guide your team members. Contribute to the evolution of the Smart methodologies and Smart messaging within the Workday community.
  • Design and Delivery of Technical Solutions – you'll be responsible for delivering the technical solutions for Smart to meet the client requirements.
  • Developing Kainos as a business - You'll work closely with Smart Customer Success Managers and clients to scope, document, implement, deploy and support Smart solutions within the clients Workday Test Strategy. You'll also be responsible for providing innovative solutions to Smart customers and identifying opportunities to make process improvements or create efficiencies.
  • Nurturing our customer base - you will manage relationships with our customers, shaping and delivering solutions that are aligned to their needs, fit for purpose and commercially viable. You'll provide excellent consulting and guidance to customers, truly understanding their business. You will participate in Workday Regional User Groups where required.
  • Being a point of escalation – Your expertise will be leveraged to help respond to customer needs with precision and efficiency.
  • Being a role model - You'll support your colleagues and reconcile the needs of the individual with the needs of the team whilst embodying the Kainos values. You'll be the person people look up to – people trust your decisions because they are transparent and justified.
  • Putting people first & developing others – You'll manage, coach and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on managing employee performance and assisting in their career development.
  • Quality assurance in Smart solution delivery across all projects.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Good verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and clearly communicate technical solutions and benefits to a non-technical audience.
  • Extensive experience of managing, mentoring and developing teams OR Smart technical and team lead experience covering Scoping, Pack building and Gold test Execution with Workday certification in either HCM, Payroll or Financials Modules.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to work across a number of major projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer focus, able to build open and trusted client relationships assess customer needs and manage and challenge customer expectations. You will be able to intervene effectively and resolve customer escalations appropriately at process and technical level.
  • Ability to deliver Smart testing solutions which are fit for purpose including requirements capture, design, development, testing, operational implementation and post go-live support.
  • Strong commercial awareness and complete understanding of project and business dynamics.
  • Broad business and technology understanding and a good awareness of Workday trends and dynamics as well as regulatory issues for specific industry sectors in multiple geographies.
  • Flexible (including willingness for short term travel or not regular working hours). Long term travel may be required, but is voluntary and not mandatory.

Desirable:

  • Professional Workday certification.
  • Proficient in the Smart product.
  • Develop and deliver products/offerings and services that differentiate Kainos in the marketplace.
  • An acknowledged expert and responsible for thought leadership in the Smart capability – defining processes, creating relevant documentation and developing tools.

People Management:

Your role will involve managing direct reports. Where you do have direct reports your responsibilities may include:

  • Agreeing, setting and reviewing your and your team's goals aligned to Kainos, Workday and your Capability.
  • Providing support so that your and your team's goals can be achieved.
  • Reviewing and refining goals for relevance and to keep performance on track.
  • Reviewing performance against goals and provide feedback.
  • Conducting 1:1 monthly and/or project completion feedback meetings.
  • Requesting and providing regular feedback in Workday.
  • Completing End of Year reviews and agreeing the outcomes for the year.
  • Identifying training to support your and your team's development.
  • Pursuing and supporting your and your team members' career paths and progression.
  • Reviewing weekly workload forecasting (staff allocations and timesheet checks) and utilisation.
  • Actively being involved in recruitment/interviews

INTERNAL WORKDAY PLATFORM LEAD

As an Internal Workday Platform Lead (Manager) in Kainos, you'll be responsible for design and delivery of the Kainos Internal Workday Platform, including functionality from HCM, FINS, Projects and the new PSA suite along with the associated business reporting.

The principle objective is to deliver excellent user experiences for our colleagues who are end users and to ensure that the roadmap is prioritised to deliver best value for Kainos. You'll be the trusted adviser to the People, Finance and Operations Teams.

Key responsibility is the effective management of a team of Consultants to ensure that the Internal Workday Platform Health and Security is maintained, and to shape and deliver an agreed roadmap. You'll also guide the business on opportunities where new or unused functionality can deliver business benefit.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading & championing a team – you will lead a team of Internal Workday Consultants to ensure the deliverables achieve a high-level of return on investment for Kainos. Responsible for mentoring and growing the team.
  • Providing technical leadership - you'll be a technical expert for Internal Workday. You will fully utilise your Workday certification to meet Kainos internal requirements and deliver solutions aligned to best practice, using your technical and professional expertise to mentor and guide your team members. You will contribute to the evolution of the Workday community.
  • Design & Delivery of technical solutions – you'll be responsible for delivering the technical solutions for Internal Workday to meet the agreed Kainos requirements.
  • Developing Kainos as a business - You'll work closely with the People, Finance, Operations and Project Office team to scope, document, implement, deploy and support Workday Internal Improvements. You'll also be responsible for providing innovative solutions and identifying opportunities to make process improvements or create efficiencies.
