West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove Local Authorities, under joint leadership with NHS Sussex are inviting candidates to join us as a Health Support Officer for SEND.
These roles will assist the Health Commissioner for SEND and the wider health leadership team, where you will offer expert support to drive the SEND agenda through projects and delivery, to improve outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
There is a strong coordination element as a Health Support Officer where you will deliver a customer focused support service by collating, maintaining, and analysing a diverse range of complex data and information.
You will be required to work in partnership across the three Sussex Local Authorities, the NHS and the wider Sussex Integrated Care System (ICS), working closely with voluntary sector providers, young people, parent and carers.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the main areas for SEND improvement and the development of an ICS SEND work programme.
- Supporting joint working and engagement across health, social care and education.
- Project work relating to the SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) Change Programme.
- Ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality and security.
- Provide progress reports, presenting findings, and ensuring information is maintained according to established governance processes.
- Maintain good working relationships with partners across health, social care and education.

About You
We are looking for someone who has knowledge of the Sussex-wide SEND agenda, including local plans and strategies, as you will be driving improvements for children and young people with SEND across Sussex. Being organised and calm in nature is beneficial in this role.
You will need to be solution focused and have strong communication skills which are required to achieve objectives and implement solutions.
Please note that you will work within a complex and sensitive environment, where excellent interpersonal skills are key.
