What does the Housing Options Team do?

We support people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. The team provides advice and guidance, while working with other professional partners and charities to meet the needs of our clients.

 

This role is a gateway to opportunities within local government and can be the first step towards a career that offers clear progression and diversity, with an employer who invests and values their staff You will develop both an understanding of Homelessness Law and Legislation, as well as a solid understanding of local government.

 

What will I be doing?

You will be based in the office Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5pm.

A main part of the role will be reaching out to clients who are homeless or threatened with homelessness in order to establish the facts and details of there situation, and to support them in providing the required evidence and documentation. This could be either via email or telephone so good organisational skills are key There will always be experienced staff on hand to help and support you.

 

What skills do I need?

  • Positive can do attitude
  • Ability to work within a team while also able to self-motivate
  • Good personal skills and confidence to talk to others

 

What training will you take and what qualification will you get at the end?

  • Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • Functional Skills in Maths, and English (if required)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
