This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our AHPs in LPFT and complete the your training to be an physiotherapist with Sheffield Hallam University whilst working from your base at our Learning Disability Service South Hub based at Johnson Hospital.
You will learn new skills, study a BSc Physiotherapy degree and develop as an individual. The course normally takes 33 months.
Main duties of the job
During your apprenticeship, you will have blocks of study in Univeristy and then spend time working alongside a physiotherapist at your workbase and will also have the opportunity to experience placements within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and across the health system in Lincolnshire.
The trust provides mental health and learning disabilities services across the whole of the county of Lincolnshire and therefore placements may be at any geographical area of the county. Successful applicants will be required to travel independently around to county to fulfil these placements.
Travel to SHU will be funded personally by the apprentice. There may support to fund travel to and from a placement that is significantly further than your usual work to home travel in negotiation with your manager. Any academic requirements (such as textbooks) costs would be at the expense of the apprentice (subject to requirements of the levy).

1. To work under the overall supervision of a qualified occupational therapist to provide a client-centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users with complex To support the occupational therapist in the implementation of intervention plans aimed at helping clients to maintain and regain independence in functional abilities and promoting clients safety through the participation in everyday occupation3. To complete the occupational therapy degree level apprenticeship and gain full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) on qualifying.

Essential
Three GCSE passes at grade C / grade 4 or above including Maths, English, and Science, or equivalent* level 2 functional skills OCR science level 2 / science units gained on a level 3 BTEC or OCR National Diploma or Extended Diploma Qualification / science credits gained on Access to Higher Education Diplomas (at least 12 credits gained at level 2 or 6 credits gained at level 3) / science equivalency test from 112 UCAS points from A levels (including at least 40 points from either a natural science subject such as Biology or Human biology, or a social science subject such as Psychology, Sociology, Health and Social Care), or equivalent BTEC National qualifications (including suitable natural or social science modules). We do not accept AS levels. We do not accept General Studies. Access to HE Diploma from a QAA recognised Access to HE course in health studies, health science, nursing or another science-based course. Normally we require 15 credits at level 2 and 45 at level 3 of which at least 30 credits should be graded at distinction level. A previous degree in a related Natural or Social Science subject Open University study in Natural or Social Sciences, foundation course Sheffield Hallam University FdSc Professional Practice in Health and Social Care Other qualifications that will be assessed on an individual basis by Sheffield Hallam University and may meet the entry requirements in part: professional qualifications at Level 5 Diploma or above in a related area

Have relevant work experience in care setting Provide evidence of understanding of Occupational Therapy and make steps to ensure they are making the right choice of profession. For example: researching the profession, visiting Occupational Therapy departments, attending open events or speaking to Occupational Therapists about their roles.
