Hove, United Kingdom Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College Full time

We are one of the top-performing colleges in the country, situated in the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton & Hove. Working here offers the combination of both a wonderful place to work and a great city in which to live. Our students and staff are colourful, aspirational, and hard-working – which is perhaps why 96% of employees would “recommend BHASVIC as a good place to work”, and many of our students go on to Higher Education.

We are looking to appoint two Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join the college’s Additional Learning Support Department. You will be required to support students in a range of subjects at A level or BTEC Level 3, as well as some students who are resitting their Maths or English GCSE.

Benefits: Join us and you can expect competitive pay and an excellent pension scheme, family-friendly working, and a collaborative culture where ideas take flight together. Our Cycle to Work scheme, free counselling and occupational health service, discounted gym memberships and staff wellbeing events will keep you sharp, whilst our tailored induction programme and investment in your professional development – along with the possibility of funding for additional qualifications and to even take a sabbatical – will ensure an exciting future.

Both posts are permanent, term time only, working 39 weeks per year (plus 1 day to be worked during the holidays). Please let us know which post you are applying for when submitting your application.

Pay, pensions and safeguarding

POST 1: If you apply for the full-time post, the pro rata starting salary will be £24,944 per annum (working 39 weeks per year) and includes 5.2 weeks of holiday pay. POST 2: If you apply for the part time post, the pro rata starting salary will be £9,438 per annum (working 39 weeks per year) and includes 5.2 weeks of holiday pay.

Both posts are based on spine point 15 within grade 5 of the support staff pay spine for which the current full-time salary is £29,346 per annum (working 52 weeks per year).

Closing date: 9am on Monday 24 June 2024.

Interview date: Monday 1 July 2024.
