Business Banking Technology Program Director

The Business Banking Technology Program Director will take lead accountability for the end-to-end inception, development, build, architecture, and execution of large-scale transformational programmes including business change, growth, cost reduction, and remediation. This role enables these programmes to land strategic change safely to ensure outcomes land effectively for customers and colleagues, in alignment with the overall business strategy. Key Responsibilities

Play a key part in driving the organisation forward, displaying strategic leadership to proactively support colleagues and customers, ensuring that outcomes land, are adopted effectively, and that colleagues have the right tools and enablers to support their customers. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Barclays UK strategy, priorities, and different functions, including detailed awareness of key processes and resources. Take a long-term view on the build of Business Banking strategy, working with the broader leadership team to develop and implement this strategy. Drive the delivery and implementation of complex cross-functional and cross-business transformational programmes and activities, setting clear objectives for programmes and projects, and ensuring outcomes are managed efficiently and effectively. Ensure business benefits are articulated, measured, tracked, reported, and validated. Oversee efficient resource allocation, create and lead a business change centre of excellence, coach team members, and bring discipline and consistency to the way change is executed. Purpose of the Role

Manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities

Manage change projects within the organisation to ensure on-time delivery within scope, budget, and required quality standards. Develop and manage project plans outlining the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects. Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to keep them informed about project progress and ensure their needs and expectations are met. Manage project teams, ensuring they are properly resourced and have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives. Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets. Create reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Manage project risks, ensuring that risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary. Facilitate change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation. Director Expectations Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives. Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function. Escalate breaches of policies/procedure appropriately. Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed, and that relevant processes are in place to facilitate adherence. Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division/Group to achieve the overall business objectives. Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector/functional knowledge and insight into external market developments/initiatives. Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/sensitive situations. Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area. Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally. Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/businesses divisions. Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division. Leadership Behaviours
