This is an exciting opportunity to be joining the Crowne Plaza Reading team to create and deliver true hospitality for both our guests and colleagues. Crowne Plaza Reading perfectly nestled amongst the trees on the bank of the River Thames and only15 minutes walk away from the Reading Station and Reading town centre. The hotel is an elegant retreat primed for business success with 122 contemporary bedrooms and lavish banquets. 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NIGHT SUPERVISOR AT CROWNE PLAZA READING

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Night Manager & Front Office Manager you can expect your working day to include the following. 

To assist with the smooth & efficient operation of the hotel during night time hours and ensure all security measures are strictly enforced during the night. Direct the Night Porter in the set up and cleaning of meeting rooms, toilets and public spaces as required to meet business demands and in line with deep cleaning scheduling, conducting relevant training and reviews of risk assessments as required. Night time duties including cleaning, night audit, reception duties (i.e. check-in, check-out), setting up conference rooms and any other duties requested by management.  To assist guests at all times when required. To be pleasant, polite and courteous to guests at all times and acknowledge all guests when you meet them. To adopt a ‘can do' attitude towards all aspects of customer service through a proactive and flexible approach to meeting customer needs. To deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care. To be aware of facilities available to guests within the hotel, this includes the Restaurant, Bar, Leisure Club & Spa. To assist colleagues and other members of staff to create teamwork and quality service through communication. To ensure all security measures are strictly enforced during the night. This to include cash handling and key security. To collate and pass on information and messages to other departments and guests as necessary. Assist in maximising all areas of profitability, through increased revenue generation and productivity Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the hotel. Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement. To develop interactive customer relations and to be aware of any possible future requirements and to relay such information to other Departments for the enhancement of customer expectation. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. Ensure that the team are developed to provide a hospitable service in line with the operating standards and procedures and  Crowne Plaza brand standards. To anticipate guest needs, act upon and follow up guest requests and deliver a level of service and responsiveness that generates excellent customer service. To actively support other departments and act when assistance is needed. To be able to perform Duty Management shifts.

To succeed in the role of Night Supervisor, you will need the following qualities and skills:

To ensure the smooth running of the hotel during the night time hours and those standards are maintained at all times. To ensure that all guests are dealt with in a professional manner in accordance with company standards. To ensure that all guest queries/complaints are dealt with in a professional manner. To assist colleagues and other members of staff to create teamwork and quality service through communication. To adopt a ‘can do' attitude towards all aspects of customer service through a proactive and flexible approach to meeting customer needs. The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care.
