Permanent contract | full-time 37 hours per week | £29,269 to £31,364 per annum (Grade G) | Norwich – hybrid working

At Norfolk County Council’s Children’s Services we believe in putting the views of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), and their families at the heart of everything we do. 

The SEND Participation Officer post is central to ensuring we engage children and young people with SEND and their families through outreach and linking in with schools, youth groups and the communities in which they live.

SEND Participation Officer

In this post, you will support Norfolk’s Participation Strategy by effectively developing, facilitating, and monitoring involvement and participation activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and their families. 

The location of this post will be agreed with the successful applicant. A flexible approach to your working week is needed as occasional evening and weekend work will be required. 

This post sits within the Participation Team which: 

  • ensures the voices of children and young people are heard and they are able to influence and support the development of all aspects of the service. 
  • empowers Children and Young People to participate meaningfully and lead projects that have a positive impact on the service they receive.  
  • educates and enables wider colleagues to embed participation in everyday practice. 

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Children and Young People's Participation Officer to join our team on a permanent basis.
