East Grinstead, United Kingdom Gatwick Airport Full time
Job Requirements

To be the airport for everyone whatever your journey

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Lead (DEI)

The Opportunity:

Are you our next DEI lead. We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for our Talent Experience team. We are open for this role to be full or part time.

What's the role?

You'll be responsible for leading, promoting and embedding our DE&I agenda across London Gatwick.  It's an exciting time to join, having just refreshed our targets for Women and Minority Ethnic groups in leadership and management roles, with a set of focused actions to help us achieve these. With all of our workforce operating from the London Gatwick campus – it's a great opportunity for someone who loves seeing the impact directly and making those connections with people. Our Business Resource Groups, together with their Executive Sponsors are keen to support our DE&I agenda – so you'll have a committed and motivated support base. While we have a DE&I strategy and action plan, there is plenty of scope for you to adapt this and help us shape our plans for 2025 and beyond.

What you'll be doing?

  • You'll be working collaborating with senior stakeholders, the HR team, Communications team and our Business Resource groups to deliver the DE&I strategy.
  • You'll create, implement, and project manage the DE&I action plans and company-wide diversity and inclusion programmes.
  • Working together with policy holders, you'll ensure that DE&I is interwoven into our policies and procedures.
  • As our SME for DE&I, we will look to you to bring in new ideas, best practice and horizon scan for any changes in the DE&I space that we may need to integrate into our plans.
  • You'll work collaboratively with the HR teams to embed DE&I across all people processes and practices (e.g., recruitment)
  • You'll be data led - utilising DE&I data insights to help understand the impact of initiatives and make recommendations.
  • You'll build out and maintain our DE&I resource materials and tools for managers and colleagues.
  • You'll manage the reporting of diversity metrics, including government, shareholders and external benchmark requirements.
  • You'll coordinate and execute the Gatwick Inclusion calendar (i.e. events, speaker sessions etc.)

Do you have what we're looking for?

The live environment at Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem solving skills and a collaborative outlook. You'll have the opportunity to be significantly involved in delivering the DE&I objectives, as well as the opportunity work not only across HR, but all of the business. In addition, we're looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about the broad spectrum that is DE&I;
  • has an HR background, CIPD level 3 (as a min) or similar experience.
  • is a connector, building relationships across the organisation to help deliver results and resolve issues.
  • is excited about data and how we can use this to analyse impact, or rationale for where we may need to focus on an intervention.
  • Is able to balance several plates at a time and balance their time accordingly.
  • Is able to write great PowerPoints and documents to bring to life our DE&I agenda, communicate insights and share information.
  • Is able to think creatively and take people on a journey.

Why Work for London Gatwick?

We are committed to reflecting the diversity of our local community and the passengers we serve. We value an environment where everyone feels comfortable, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. As an equitable, diverse, and inclusive employer, we encourage different perspectives that redefine what's possible. Together, we form a strong and united team.
