HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Material Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers, and employees for over 80 years.

We bring over 236 different products to the market, ranging from the smallest pallet truck to 48 tonne container handling trucks.

Successful applicants will be assigned to work in Materials or Value Stream, working in a team responsible for a range of key accountabilities to include the following, depending on area /department:

Materials

Developing plans, specifications and training documentation for projects

Monitoring schedule and costs during implementation of projects

Assisting the Materials and Scheduling teams with day to day activities to support Production

Ensuring product availability to meet customer requirements both internally and externally

Provide technical support and carry out other activities as required

Value Stream

Providing engineering support for Value Streams (VS)

Assist with the design and procurement of signage, equipment, visual boards and other tools

Assist with development of VS systems, processes, procedures and other documentation

Lead small scale Manufacturing Engineering improvement activities

Co-ordinate VS continuous improvement activities with operational support functions

Knowledge Required:

Candidates must be students for the duration of the student placement, working towards a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related discipline

Competent in MS Office packages

Strong team working and communication skills, proactivity and personal initiative and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment

Experience using AutoCAD or another CAD package would be considered advantageous
