Direct Payments Finance Officer

Our team is responsible for ensuring over 1,300 service users receive their Direct payments on time.In addition, the team is responsible for monitoring the use of Direct Payments to ensure the funds are being used in line with their care and support plans.
The role includes payment and monitoring of the Direct payment, identifying and investigating potential mismanagement, recovering non-payment of contributions towards care and recouping surplus funds from accounts.You will also provide effective customer-focused support by supporting service users and the Social Work teams.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is ready to make a difference.You must be flexible and remain calm under pressure.You will empower users by monitoring, supporting, advising, and facilitating their management of Direct Payments packages and finances. You will ensure compliance by checking, monitoring, and analysing financial records.Previous financial experience within a fast-paced process driven environment is desirable. Training will be provided.
About the role
We are looking for someone with experience in a finance role to join our team.Aswe are committed to giving our residents the highest standard of service, you will have a proven ‘can do’ attitude, be customer focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be proficient in the using Microsoft packages including SharePoint.
Experience in delivering accurate work to agreed timescales is essential as well as keeping files and information up to date.
The role is varied, has complex and challenging cases but is rewarding. You will join a team of five who support each other, share ideas and learning.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of services provided
- Experience of analysing information and reconciling accounts
- Finance experience
- Able to use standard IT packages (Microsoft Office) to a high standard
