Mō te tūnga | About the role

Come and join our vibrant team in this new role where you'll be working in the People and High-Performance team and providing high quality, legally robust and best-practice people advice to People Leaders within the supported Business Group(s) on all aspects of HR and the employee lifecycle.

You will participate in position management, job evaluation, performance development, ER, and workforce planning, along with many other HR generalist areas and delivery of the HR work and change management programmes. You will provide coaching advice and support to People Leaders to support the development of a positive workplace - including resolving performance issues, conflict resolution and developing good working relationships. Ensure compliance with people-related policies and procedures and legal requirements by helping People Leaders to proactively manage ER issues and risks at the lowest level of escalation.

Always looking for better ways of working to share ideas and best practices with others in the People and High-Performance team to improve overall performance will always be welcomed.

You will be an efficient and effective HR Professional that can provide structure, calm and unflappable resolve to their stakeholders. Experience as trusted partner that's positive, resilient, practical, and most importantly possess a healthy sense of humour :)

Some other key requirements of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Understand HR best practice in both the private and public sectors
  • Working knowledge of current NZ employment law and HR practices
  • Ability to deliver clear messaging to different audiences
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
