Job Description

 

UK Customer Technical Service Engineer

 

Purpose of function/ main tasks:

 

This position ensures that Ardagh products and services meet the individual customer requirements when filling beverages into the cans. It ensures uninterrupted and efficient filling process, continuous improvement of filling line performance, creates opportunities for added value services and increases customer loyalty.

 

It provides external support to the complaint handling process and to product qualification requirements. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Core Activities

 

  • Regular visits to Customer sites working to agreed service levels and generating visit reports.
  • Providing advice and technical support to enhance and optimise beverage filling facilities.
  • Managing the technical activities on a local basis by means of regular technical reviews.
  • To be the first point of contact for Customer enquiries.
  • Support Trading Customer care, Sales, Ardagh plants and Customers investigation & resolution of quality concerns.
  • Support Metal Packaging UK plants in qualification of new can / end sizes, light-weighting initiatives & material introductions.
  • Using problem solving skills & tecniques to support customers in resolution of line issues.
  • Providing training to Customers on a local level.
  • Working to achieve Company and functional (CTS) objectives by regular monitoring of objectives monitored through the Trading business plan.

Professional Requirements:

 

  • Engineer Apprentice Trained or Graduate
  • Job related experience within an engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal
  • The ability to build and maintain good relationships with Customers and colleagues.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • The ability to plan and prioritise independently
  • Self Motivational
  • A Clean Driver’s License
