The School of Nursing and Midwifery are recruiting a School Academic Support Officer to work at our Preston campus. The role provides proactive assistance to the School Leadership Team, including administrative support, advice and guidance to academic staff on University processes and supporting enquiries from staff and students. This is a fixed term contract to cover a secondment for 12 months or until the return of the substantive postholder.

Candidates will possess a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the changing demands of an increasingly busy role ranging from diary management to support the growth of Research and Knowledge Transfer activity to supporting academic colleagues with finance processes and course review.

The post requires the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating a robust knowledge and understanding of the University. Applicants will ideally have experience of working in an HE/FE environment and the ability to be a positive team player.

You will have a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning in addition to excellent IT, problem solving, and data handling skills. A flexible approach to working, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to plan, prioritise, meet deadlines, and exercise personal responsibility are also required. The successful candidate will have excellent minute taking skills with the ability to service meetings.

There may be some requirement for occasional weekend and evening working in this role.
