We encourage all young people to work hard and make the most of the opportunities they are given. Our amazing team of teachers and support staff themselves demonstrate and encourage a lifelong love of learning, both within and beyond our curriculum.

We are proud members of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, a ‘family’ of like-minded schools, that collaborate to provide mutual support, share their good practice and learn from each other, whilst retaining and developing our own distinctive character. The Trust is a vibrant and forward-thinking community of teachers, support staff and learners committed to educating the ‘whole child’ to improve life chances, whilst securing the best possible outcomes for students.

The successful candidate will work across Stoke Damerel Community College and Scott Medical & Healthcare College. No additional travel is required as the sites are next door to each other.

The department teach both GCSE, A-Level and Applied Psychology to over 100 students, as well as Criminology in the Sixth Form. Both are popular subjects and the main purpose of this role is to support, develop and lead a team of teachers to ensure high standards of teaching and learning and the wellbeing of staff and students. The schools also teach Sociology and Health and Social Care at both Key Stages, and although the leadership of these sit outside the specification of this role, we are looking forward to developing the leadership of this faculty over the next few years.

Greenshaw Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All teaching and support members of staff must undertake the required pre-employment checks which include the uptake of references both professional and personal and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check.
