Business Development Manager

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager within the FM or Contract Cleaning industry? Thorn Baker are currently working alongside a forward-thinking, modern contract cleaning company to find a qualified Business Development Manager for a remote working role with occasional visits to the office.
The role offers.
- £40k per annum

- A generous and uncapped bonus structure

- Exposure to develop bids and tenders for new contracts
Full-time home working with a monthly trip to London head office, with expenses covered.
The role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect new clients, through networking, cold calling, advertising, or other creative means of generating interest.
The ideal candidate must have the skill set and tenacity to deliver the company's serviceability, with a pitch that will convert passive clients into business partners.
You must develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. You will work with senior-level management, marketing, and sales staff.
You may manage the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company. Your responsibility will be to develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This will require a clear understanding of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and extensive knowledge of our client's competitors.
Your main duties can be summarized as follows:
New Business Development
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
- Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision-makers within the client organisation.
- Research and build relationships with new clients.
- Set up meetings between client decision-makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.
- Plan approaches and pitches.
- Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Attend industry events/exhibitions and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Present to and consult with mid and senior-level management on business trends with a view to business development.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
