Consultant Post in General Paediatrics with an interest in Eating Disorders Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) is looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join the department of General Paediatrics. We are offering a 10 PA substantive post. This role will support the delivery of both inpatient and outpatient general paediatric and eating disorders services. Applicants should have a CCT or equivalent in General Paediatrics or be within six months of achieving this at the date of interview, or be listed on the GMC's specialist register. A strong interest in Paediatric Eating Disorders is essential, and previous experience of working with young people with eating disorders is desirable.

The BRHC is the paediatric major trauma centre for the South West region and is the only dedicated hospital for children in the South West of England. Main duties of the job

This is a new role with the opportunity to develop the newly formed eating disorders service. The post holder will also be part of the general paediatric service consultant rota including morning and evenings cover, and deliver rapid access clinics and routine general paediatric clinics.

Responsibilities within the paediatric eating disorders service include service weeks (consultant responsibility for twice weekly Consultant led MDT (dietetics & psychology) inpatient ward rounds at BRHC, medical assessment of new patients and specialist queries during working hours Monday-Friday), delivery of weekly Medical Assessment Clinic and improving liaison with Riverside Adolescent Unit for patients with anorexia The post holders will lead the weekly multidisciplinary (MDT) meeting. They will work within the Access and Waiting Times framework and the New Care Models agenda for Eating Disorder services in children and young people's services. The postholder will work closely with newly appointed posts in dietetics and psychology and in partnership with community CAHMS and Riverside Unit (local general adolescent unit). Medical care of inpatients will be supported by trainees in general paediatrics.
