Job Description Summary• JOB TITLE: Lawyer - Group Corporate Treasury

Job Description
Introducing the team:
We're a mix of capital markets and pensions senior lawyers and lawyers who share a common goal of providing insightful and strategic legal advice and innovative solutions. A friendly, open and lively team, we love to collaborate and pride ourselves on providing an excellent service. We partner with GCT business, Risk, People & Places and Legal & Secretariat colleagues to support matters which are core to the Group’s strategy. We’re an experienced and encouraging team, and there’ll be lots of opportunity to upskill.
And now about the role:
You'll provide specialist legal support to GCT - the Bank’s bank. GCT manages the Group’s balance sheet and capital to support our Group strategy. The work we do has genuine breadth and variety. Examples of areas we support include:
- Secured and unsecured funding programmes and transactions for medium term notes, commercial paper, overseas domestic debt, green bonds, covered bonds, securitisation and capital optimisation transactions (including SRTs) across asset classes.
- Capital management and issuance.
- Central bank facilities and intra-group funding and divisional treasury matters.
- Group debt and financial disclosures.
- Group strategic and regulatory projects including Recovery & Resolution, Edinburgh Reforms, regulatory change, engagement, and horizon scanning.
- We also advise businesses across the Group on colleague pension arrangements. It's a diverse area of law requiring flexibility and dynamism. Supporting our senior Pensions lawyers could be a great development opportunity, so if it interests you, we’d be happy to involve you.

What we need from you
You’ll need a current UK legal practicing certificate to qualify for this role, with ideally 2+ years PQE.
We're also looking for these key attributes:
- Experience in providing commercially focused legal advice on complex financing transactions, ideally with good experience in capital markets or securitisation.
