General Manager Lincolnshire EfW

As the General Manager, you will report to the Operations Director GE+, and will directly be responsible for the performance of the Lincolnshire EfW facility, SHEQ compliance, management of the operations for waste acceptance, plant management and electricity production. You’ll also assist in managing the contractual interfaces with Lincolnshire County Council to ensure the smooth operation of contractual obligations and give client confidence.

What will you be doing?

- Responsible for the safe, environmental compliance and effective operation and maintenance of the Lincolnshire EfW.
- Leading a 39+ team of highly engaged engineers, technicians and support staff.
- Implementing in conjunction with the SHEQ team the Company Health, Safety & Environmental Policy and development of Safe Working Practices for all aspects of the operation to relevant HSE standards, Risk Assessment, COSHH requirements, acceptance tests and inspections and application of good engineering practice.
- Ensuring that the plant and equipment is operated and maintained to the appropriate standard and that PPM program is implemented to minimise operational and compliance risk.
- Developing and implementing the financial budget for the area of responsibility in conjunction with the FPA, to meet company objectives (annual budget, 5YP, Lifecycle).
- Acting as the link between the council to deliver the commercial and contractual interests of the respective contracts in place.
- Implementing Company Training and Development Policy. Including the development of personnel and team objectives ensuring continuous development, training and improvement to provide a flexible, motivated workforce capable of maintaining and improving our existing systems.

What are we looking for?

- Engineering Degree educated with a proven track record in an EfW Management role.
- Evidence of a strong technical background in EfW and Waste Management in general.
- Experience in the identification of opportunities that add value to the bottom line and implementation through good project management skills.
- Experience of a professional and disciplined approach to management, working in conjunction with operational teams ensuring performance expectations, service standards and people development are met.
- Strong leadership skills involving a multi-disciplined team.
- Commitment and determination to meet personal objectives. Strong drive and resilience.
