WHAT YOU'LL DO
As BCGâs Global Immigration Senior Director, you will shape and deliver the immigration strategy for the firm. Working closely with BCG's Risk and Compliance, Legal, Mobility, and local HR teams and business leadership, you will set standards and policies for managing immigration within the firm's overall values and operationalize these in partnership with our offices around the world. We are looking for someone to join our team who will shape and drive the strategic agenda, while also challenging the traditional way of doing things.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Drive BCGâs immigration strategy
  • Work closely with BCG's Risk and Compliance, Legal, Mobility, Staffing, and local HR functions and business leaders to set standards for managing immigration within the firm's overall values
  • Develop global immigration policies, in partnership with other global functions and local teams
  • Evaluate and evolve the firmâs immigration operating model, in partnership with other global functions and local teams
  • Analyze trends in immigration challenges and recommend appropriate responses
  • Lead a small Center of Excellence team to drive the firmâs immigration strategy, and responsibilities below
Put in place appropriate global infrastructure to support immigration management, for example:
  • Tools and processes to make information regarding immigration requirements available to pertinent local office staff
  • Technology platform for data entry, monitoring status and expiry, and reporting
Collaborate with the business to ensure compliance, manage risk, and address any additional potential compliance issues as they arise
  • Advise on immigration risks and mitigation strategies; navigate solutions
  • Conduct risk assessments for new office openings / work in new jurisdictions
Track compliance challenges, by country, in internal database
  • Escalate challenges, and any history/friction with authorities, to appropriate firm leadership
  • Share knowledge across immigration coordinator network
  • Evaluate trends requiring proactive solutions
  • Distill trends to inform strategy and broader risk-based decisions
Develop network of local Immigration Coordinators
  • Provide guidance to local staff about local policies, processes, outsourcing vs. insourcing
  • Share information about immigration changes, trends and best practices
  • Develop and deliver training to local Immigration Coordinators
  • Support the selection of local legal advisors where required
Advise and educate on immigration across the firm
  • Raise risk awareness with business where needed
  • Develop and deliver training to internal teams, e.g. in HR
  • Stay current on material changes to the legal and/or enforcement environments in jurisdictions which are key to the firm's business and recommend changes in approach
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Legal, Risk & Compliance, Mobility, Staffing, and Tax teams

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelorâs degree, and minimum of 10+ yearsâ relevant professional experience
  • Subject matter expert in immigration and risk management
  • Proven track record in setting and delivering firm wide strategy in the immigration space including developing global policies, tools, processes
  • Highly honed planning and project capability; able to oversee, plan and execute parallel concurrent activities to serve firm wide plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and delivery impact within a complex matrix structured organization; experience with, and understanding of, managing complex reporting relationships and multiple cultures
  • Ability to deliver within rules and guidelines, while maintaining a pragmatic and solution-focused mindset that supports the business and keeps within BCGâs values and culture
  • Comfort with ambiguity and appreciation of the speed at which our business operates
  • Experience working successfully within a fast-paced, intellectually deep, service-oriented environment with commercial and strategic focus
  • Outstanding interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills to influence and build trust with both internal and external stakeholders, while working in a global, collaborative team environment
