We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Colchester. Our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are proud of our ever-growing SEND provision and are looking for a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher to join our team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated SEND Teacher with experience in managing and delivering high-quality education to children with SEND, particularly those who are non-verbal autistic with high needs. The successful candidate will lead our SEND provision and manage a team of SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for SEND students.
- Manage and support a team of SEND LSAs, providing guidance, training, and development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and school policies.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience in teaching and supporting children with SEND, particularly non-verbal autistic children.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
