Exciting Opportunity for a SEND Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join our team at a Special School in Colchester. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to students with complex needs, including autism and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEND students.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide support to students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, including autism.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Maintain a safe and structured classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the school's broader initiatives to promote student well-being and achievement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience teaching SEND students is desirable, but not essential.
  • A strong understanding of SEND teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
