Barhale is looking to grow its Operatives within the water industry, this is a great opportunity to be part of a new team and help influence and guide the team as it grows.

The Skilled Operative will be part of our installation teams working on the Integrated.

Operational Solutions (IOS) Framework for the Anglian Water AMP 7/8 Programme.

This is a long-term opportunity - we are looking at a further 10 years of work, with the work being in a 70-mile radius of Northampton.

The Role:

To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and carry out job-set tasks

  • Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements.
  • Use best/safest practices on all tasks carried out.
  • Checks on any equipment that may be used.
  • Ensure a safe tidy place of work.

Ensure the completion of work is on time.

  • Implement best practice procedures.
  • Maximise use of own working time
  • Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work.

Communication with site management

  • Communicate with the site supervisor on any health and safety concerns.
  • Feedback to site management with near miss/close call reporting
  • Ensure attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks.

Key measures & targets:

  • Safely carry out tasks set by the site management team or ganger if in a gang.

 Key relationships:

  • Foreperson/General Foreperson
  • Site Manager
  • Site operatives
  • Operations Manager

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:

Essential

  • A good experience in relevant site work
  • Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
  • CSCS card
  • Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ ride on roller/ 360 excavator
  • NRSWA
  • H+S awareness
  • ½ day environmental awareness preferable
  • SMSTS preferable SSSTS
  • 1 day First Aid
  • Good team worker
