Pathmakers is looking to contract an individual, or partnership to deliver: the walking 2024 festival (WN24); monthly walk programme; design and running of the Wellbeing Programme.

Following the successful delivery of the 2022 and 2023 festivals some early planning for the 2024 event are already in place.

It aims to engage those less likely to walk and those less likely to access the Countryside. It includes a programme of daily walking activities across Norfolk working with both established and new partners. A self-guided walk of the day will also be made available on the website for everyday of the festival. A regular monthly walking programme of at least one walk a month

A Wellbeing Programme with particular interest groups e.g. Vision Norfolk  focused on access to the countryside and containing an element of co-production with the groups . The Wellbeing Programmes should involve a day per week of engagement with a variety of different activities. A methodology for monitoring achievement over the programme is being developed via an external evaluator.

The contract holder will report regularly to two named Pathmaker’s trustees. and, as required, to monthly trustee meetings.

The contract holder will be expected to

  • work remotely
  • have access to good quality broadband and IT equipment
  • access to car or other transport to travel to events.


The indicative contract value will be £30,000 (including VAT if applicable) to cover time with a further allowance to cover expenses. Invoicing monthly in arrears as agreed.

Tasks

  • Continue ongoing partnerships to enable WN24  in October: ie guided walks, partnership events (e.g. with dementia groups aimed at their service users);  Self-guided walks and other activities. Co-ordination with the existing North Norfolk Walking Festival Co-ordinator to ensure that the pilot project to embed their events in the Walk Norfolk Festival is supported and delivered.
  • Deliver a WN24 Launch event scheduled for Sunday 29th September
  • Delivery of 1 walk leader training course for partners and walk leaders to include Risk Assessment and First Aid  in late August or early September 2024
  • Development and delivery of at least one walk per month for each month excluding October
  • Identification/contact with a number of target groups for activities:  eg, families with young children, refugees and asylum seekers, disability groups, and mental health groups.
  • Work with existing ticketing systems. Microsoft for document storage.
  • Promotion of events, updating website.
