Principle Purpose of the role
We’re seeking policing professionals dedicated to championing excellence in criminal justice within the dynamic landscapes of Norfolk and Suffolk

Main Activities of the Role
You will lead and manage the joint crime management and progression teams, the joint file quality and disclosure support teams and associated business support functions; developing staff, driving performance and working with partners to:
Implement and embed changes arising from on-going Criminal Justice Reform (national and regional, legislative and digital)
Manage criminal cases effectively and expeditiously securing positive outcomes for victims
Support police officer and staff investigators to achieve high file quality standards
Support and improve the organisational understanding and application of disclosure principles
Fully exploit the potential of force systems (e.g. Athena & Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and future innovations in the CJS process
Norfolk and Suffolk crime case progression and management teams – currently:
Norfolk GAP Team
Suffolk GAP Team
Norfolk NGAP Team
Suffolk NGAP Team
Joint Crown Court Team
Joint case and disclosure support teams – currently:
CJ Support
Joint Disclosure Unit
CJS Business Support (functions currently embedded in existing crime and support teams)
You will ensure that these teams deliver a consistent and high-quality service across both counties in accordance with all relevant policy and legislations including the Attorney General’s Guidance on Disclosure, the Director’s Guidance on Charging the National File Standard and Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act.
Person Specification
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
Significant management experience within a complex business environment
Excellent communication skills with experience of providing advice on complex matters to senior leadership
Demonstrate a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System, relevant legislation and experience of working in a multi-agency partnership environment
Previous experience of effectively leading, managing and developing teams to deliver key organisational priorities with an emphasis on quality, customer care and value for money, creating inclusive working environments in which staff are empowered, valued and supported
Experience of resource management (including HR issues) and delivery of efficiency savings
Proven organisational skills including the ability to research, plan, review and implement changes in policy, procedure, and more efficient business processes through continuous improvement
Proven ability to work proactively using own initiative with a high degree of flexibility, integrity, accountability, and motivation
Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the post, across Norfolk and Suffolk as required
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
Previous experience of working in a police or legal environment
Experience of managing and delivering projects
Possession of a relevant management qualification
Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
