We are currently seeking a dedicated Property Officer to join our Property Team.

As a Property Officer, you will play a critical role in planning, arranging, and overseeing the routine maintenance of all Hostelling Scotland properties. You will work closely with our Property Manager and  Property & Facilities Compliance Manager to ensure health and safety compliance across our network. Additionally, you will support the Director of Property and Health & Safety in managing all stages of project work.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and oversee regular maintenance tasks for all Hostelling Scotland properties, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained and fully operational. Health & Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the Property & Facilities Compliance Manager to ensure all properties meet health and safety standards, conducting inspections as requested and implementing necessary improvements. Project Support: Assist the Director of Property and Health & Safety in all phases of property-related projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and evaluation. Supplier Co-ordination: Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to arrange maintenance and repair work, ensuring high-quality service delivery within budget. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, health and safety inspections, and project progress, ensuring all documentation is up to date and easily accessible. Budget Management: Assist in managing the property maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints. Team Collaboration: Work effectively within the Property Team, contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues as needed.

If you have the following we would love to hear from you:

Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related field. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners. Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Flexibility to travel to various Hostelling Scotland properties as required, with a full UK manual driving licence to enable the use of pool vehicles
