Hostelling Scotland is a prominent provider of affordable, quality lodging across Scotland. Our mission is to deliver an outstanding experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of property upkeep and safety. We are currently looking for a committed Property Officer to enhance our Property Team.
As a Property Officer, you will be instrumental in organizing, planning, and supervising the routine upkeep of all properties managed by Hostelling Scotland. You will collaborate closely with the Property Manager and the Property & Facilities Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations throughout our properties. Furthermore, you will assist the Director of Property and Health & Safety in overseeing various stages of property-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Strategically plan, schedule, and manage regular maintenance activities for all properties, ensuring optimal functionality and maintenance.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Work in partnership with the Property & Facilities Compliance Manager to guarantee all properties comply with health and safety standards, conducting necessary inspections and implementing improvements.
- Project Support: Provide assistance to the Director of Property and Health & Safety throughout all phases of property-related projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and assessment.
- Supplier Coordination: Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to arrange maintenance and repair services, ensuring high-quality delivery within budget constraints.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance tasks, health and safety inspections, and project developments, ensuring documentation is current and easily accessible.
- Budget Management: Support the management of the property maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and compliance with financial guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute positively to the Property Team, fostering a collaborative environment and assisting colleagues as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and external partners.
- Problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to various properties as needed, with a valid UK manual driving license for the use of pool vehicles.
