The Foundation was initially funded by a £7.69m donation from Northern Powergrid (Northeast) plc and Northern Powergrid (Yorkshire) plc. But this is just a start, our purpose is an enduring one that goes beyond this initial funding and reflects our desire to create a legacy across our communities.

The Foundation’s board of trustees has established the organisation as a charitable Foundation, assessing funding requests and building a plan for self-sustainability as an entity. To support this, we are currently recruiting for a purpose driven, highly organised and creative charity administrator to play a key role supporting the Foundation to achieve its goals and deliver impact in the community creating through administrative support to the Foundation Manager and Trustees.

We’re excited to hear from candidates with a passion for making a difference in our local communities, driven by creating a positive impact to our region’s energy resilience needs. This will be a varied and dynamic role where you will work alongside a diverse set of stakeholders in delivering positive outcomes in the communities we operate in. Reporting to the Head of the Northern Powergrid Foundation, you will provide professional, efficient and effective administration support to the Foundation, ensuring efficient and effective running of the charity office and daily business. To support the Board of Trustees and Foundation Manager in the management and administration of its daily functions and representing the organisation to a range of external stakeholders.

Provide administrative support to the Foundation Trustees, Operations Manager and Head of
Be responsible for the smooth running of the Foundations administrative office, dealing with enquiries by social media, telephone, email and post.
Undertake all administrative work as required by the Foundation team.
Assist with keeping contact databases and records up to date in compliance with data protection.
Produce Foundation office correspondence as requested.
Format organisation policies in line with brand guidelines.
Prepare monthly financial statements for review by the Operations Manager and/or Head of.
Identify opportunities for improvement, through feedback from communities and stakeholders – presenting these to the Foundation Manager and where appropriate to the Board of Trustees.
Understand, adhere to and actively implement all the policies and procedures whilst in compliance with all relevant external governance (e.g. Operate and comply with the provisions of all relevant policies during the course of undertaking the role.
Undertake training as required to enable successful delivery of the role
Assist with other work, events and projects as needed.
Undertake additional tasks reasonably requested by the wider Foundation team.
