Viasat is seeking an experienced People & Culture (HR) Business Partner to lead our UK focused business partnering and employee relations activities for all business segments and functions operating in the UK. This role will directly supervise and lead a junior P&C Business Partner and P&C Advisor(s). In this role, you'll collaborate closely with functional business partners, local business leaders and employees, legal, and our centers of excellence (COEs), to develop and execute UK P&C strategies, manage employee relations matters, drive change, and coach leaders. Act as Lead Business Partner for the UK: Provide local market P&C expertise to advise the business and lead execution of P&C policies and practices for the Viasat UK market specifically and generally for the broader EMEA market. Connect business function and strategy to the local region. Support business leaders and functional business partners in relation to local business strategy execution,
Advocate for employees while balancing their needs with business objectives. Contribute to Viasat’s relationship with employee representative bodies in the relevant jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. In collaboration with internal & external legal counsel, provide effective advisory and execution support on the delivery of consultations, grievances, disciplinaries, performance management and workplace investigations.
Partner with COE’s to support and facilitate core HR processes in your assigned market and contribute to global policy, process design and implementation.
Champion our culture, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and balance tactical and strategic needs in our rapidly evolving business. Support the Company as it completes its integration of Viasat + Inmarsat and the transformation of our Company operating model. This will include a lead role supporting business leaders and P&C Functional Business Partners in the execution of employment actions such as consultations, without prejudice conversations, redundancies, employee contract issues.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that keeps the team engaged. Extensive employee relations experience within international organizations including workplace investigations, grievances, performance, and disciplinary matters. Ability to build sustainable and trusting relationships with HR colleagues and local leaders to pre-empt, understand and respond to employee needs.
A business savvy HR professional with strong transformation and change experience, who demonstrates change agility and collaboration.
Ability to translate cultural nuances into language with which the wider business can engage and operate, leveraging experience working with a diverse, global workforce.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions with a proactive problem-solving approach and leveraging a strong understanding of HR functions.
Track record of building trust and partnership across the business, becoming a champion for the People and Culture needs of the business.
Excel in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, including coaching, training, change management, influence, conflict resolution, and delivering compelling presentations.
Project management skills and experience leading people-related projects from start to finish including contributing to the drafting, review, maintenance, and communication of HR policies and procedures which align with local employment laws and competitive practices.
A keen interest in our business and the ability to learn new things quickly are crucial.
Proficiency in MS Office and HR Information Systems, including Workday and ServiceNow.
A bachelor's degree/diploma (or equivalent experience) is preferred
