The role

Head of Asset Lifecycle

Warwick - Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Asset Lifecycle to:

Oversee the entire asset lifecycle management activities of NGET’s asset base including but not limited to; HV Substation plant and equipment, Overhead lines, Cables and Light Current.


Transform the business to deliver efficiencies and outperformance against the price control allowances
Support development of the future Price Control business case
Drive simplicity, standardisation and digitisation into the work scope and design processes.


The role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimise the performance, reliability, and sustainability of our assets from planning through to decommissioning. It will require a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership capabilities to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with our asset management strategy.

What you'll be getting up to
  • Asset Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive asset lifecycle strategies aligned with NGET’s objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Translate strategies into a set of deliverable objectives for setting our internal performance contract and regulatory price control submissions.
  • Lifecycle Planning: Develop and implement lifecycle management for all assets owned, operated and or maintained by NGET including but not limited to Substations & Circuits, Cyber and Light Current assets. Work collaboratively with Head of Asset Engineering Assurance to develop technical standards, specifications, type registrations, guidelines & best practices to optimise NGET’s total cost of ownership.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with asset lifecycle management and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of assets throughout their lifecycle, and implement processes to track and analyse performance data.
  • Optimisation and Efficiency: Continuously identify opportunities to optimise asset performance, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs throughout the asset lifecycle.
What's in it for you?

Salary between £85,000 p.a. to £105,000 p.a. depending on experience.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, a salary sacrifice technology scheme, support via the employee assistance line and matched charity giving to name a few.

About you
  • Management of multi-disciplinary teams covering end to end asset lifecycle activities.
  • Management of Transformation programmes and driving teams to deliver optimised technical solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstratable experience of managing high value contracts and customer /supplier relationships
  • Track record of introducing innovative solutions and challenging established policies, methodology and practices
  • Proven track record of managing multi-million pound budgets.
