With over 300 individual members and around 45 corporate members, it is the sole membership association in the UK that unites individuals and companies from all sectors of the furniture and furnishing trade, including beds, fabrics, kitchens, carpets, and floor coverings, for networking, camaraderie, and supporting charitable activities.
Their mission is to sustain a vibrant British furnishing industry with a skilled workforce producing high-quality products. They support those in need within the industry and honour those who have served it, through three core activities: education, excellence, and welfare.
Role Overview
As the Corporate Membership and Events Manager, you will oversee our client's programme of excellence and support the growth of their corporate membership.
Our client celebrates the highest standards in British design and production through prestigious Guild Marks: the Bespoke Guild Mark, Design Guild Mark, and Manufacturing Guild Mark. These marks elevate the profile of British design, innovation, and manufacturing, fostering a thriving industry and bringing recognition and publicity to award recipients.
You will manage these distinct award schemes with the support and direction of volunteer committees. Strong marketing, event management, and administrative skills are essential.
Our client's corporate members and supporters include some of the most prominent companies in the UK furnishing industry. Their generosity ensures a robust and thriving sector, where nurturing young talent and embedding skills are paramount, and excellence is the norm. The goal is to increase corporate members by 50%, and you will work closely with the corporate membership committee and CEO to recruit new members and maintain relationships with existing ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with existing corporate members.
- Track and follow up on leads, and organise meetings.
- Manage budgets, invoices, and payments.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Communications.
- Write compelling copy for members.
- Organise events and activities.
Personal Attributes and Skills
- Minimum three years of experience in marketing and events.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Effective communication with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work well in a small team, with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Reliable and consistent in producing high-quality work under pressure.
- Good organisational and presentation skills; excellent communication.
- Strong decision-making and prioritisation skills with keen attention to detail.
