Type: Full-time

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are hiring an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to support our clients and develop new business proposals to drivethe further growth of The Centre and its services in Asia, Europe, Africa and The Americas.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The position includes but is not limited to the following specific tasks:

  • Proposal Development – developing proposals (and budgets) to address client’s needs, including service proposals, pitch decks and concept notes (core task).
  • New Business - identifying new business leads and supporting outreach to new companies, obtaining qualified meetings and opportunities to pitch, and leading new business meetings with clients (from preparation to follow-up).
  • Relationship Management - managing relationships with key clients, taking a proactive approach with clients and regularly meeting them to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals through working with The Centre.
  • Renewals and expansions - building trust and advocacy with clients to drive retention and growth, developing plans of action internally and externally to achieve this.
  • Grant applications – scoping opportunities and supporting the development of competitive bids to major institutional donors, including bids to corporate trusts and foundations.
  • Leading on management of The Centre’s Child Rights in Business (CRIB) Working Group.
  • Partnerships - developing relationships with new business stakeholders (e.g. responsible business organisations, ethical trade groups, trade associations) and supporting The Centre’s other partners (e.g. Save the Children, UNICEF).

Ideal Profile

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Motivated by The Centre’s mission and work with businesses todeliver impact at scale for children.
  • Experience in leading and/or contributing to proposal development, managing bid development cycles, and managing quality reviews of the proposals.
  • Experience in budget preparation for proposals and ensuring compliance with internal finance and client requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with all levels of management (internally/externally).
  • Highly trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strategic mindset to develop existing business relationships and drive value.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational, time management and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent skills in marketing and networking.
  • Ability to work in a busy international team.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant working experiencepreferred.
  • Bachelor University degree or above, ideally in a relevant subject (e.g. international relations, human rights, sustainable development, economics, social work, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, English equal to mother tongue.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience working with businesses on child rights, human rights or related issues.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Additional language skills, Cantonese, Mandarin and French are an asset.
