What you’ll be doing:

  • Overall responsibility of the Accounts Team
  • Oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage elements of the budgeting process, including monitoring, and reporting on financial performance
  • Oversee and provide cover where necessary for the Accounts Manager
  • Managing VAT returns and Intrastat declarations for our Dutch company
  • Product Pricing analysis and decision making
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels
  • Monitor and drive continuous improvements in the business
  • Perform basic ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Produce monthly management accounts and margin analysis
  • Managing Sage 50 templates and report building and housekeeping
  • Producing weekly KPIs to help ensure the business meet their long term strategic goals
  • Compile all information annually for all UK and The Netherlands company insurance
  • Line management of Accounts Manager
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including the sales and operations teams, to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting
  • Continuously improve and streamline accounting processes and procedures
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, our Dutch accountants and foreign exchange dealers
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to finance

What you will need:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) or equivalent in experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a finance department
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Experience of accounting software and financial management systems
  • An ability to solve problems
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Extensive experience of using Sage 50 including template and report writing
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Outstanding organisation skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and relationships
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • A desire to work with a small, yet fast paced organisation, who are focussed on continuous improvement
  • Understanding of international trade, multi-currency accounting and VAT
