Partnering a leading FTSE 100 consumer business- with a Head of Commercial Finance position focused on partnering Marketing and Commercial Consumer functions based in Bedfordshire.


Household brand with big plans for Commercial finance, which has a true seat at the businesses decision making at board level


Leading, coaching and developing a team of 8 across a large multibillion £ business unit, in a fast paced PLC environment


The role:

  • Own the Marketing and Retail business unit cost base and P/L
  • Act as the trusted partner to C suite executives (CMO, Marketing Directors and Commercial Directors) and have the gravitas to host exec meetings/presentations on your BU
  • Lead a team of 8 high performing business partners, creating future succession plans and career maps for team members
  • The marketing spend per annum is excess of £600m, looking to grow, optimize and develop the business unit with lots of investment planned across the next 3 years.
  • Achieve high level of budget and forecast accuracy.
  • Provide high quality financial insight and guidance to stakeholders based on commercial understanding of the business, market context and underlying business strategy to support decision making processes.
  • Create a best in class finance business partnering ethos
  • Provide hands-on support to the FLT in working with sub-regional stakeholders and other relevant stakeholders with preparation, submission and commentary on Business Cases and Deals by developing robust financial models.
  • Manage weekly and monthly performance reporting as well as monitor performance against targets.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis as required and produce specific reporting against strategic initiatives where required.
  • Analyse, synthesize, and translate data into key strategic inputs and insights that will drive decision making at the executive level.
  • Perform financial analysis to understand costs, benefits, and return on investment for all projects and investment cases


Your profile/Background

  • Proven Finance Leader within a fast paced PLC or matrix structure business
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA qualified accountant with substantial PQE experience
  • Led and managed a team- passionate about succession planning and being ‘a leader of leaders’
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management capability, confident to partner and influence up to board level
