Associate Director - Building Services (PROPERTY CONSULTANCY)
Vertical Recruitment is partnering with a leading Independent Property and Construction Consultancy.
As they expand their Manchester team, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Associate Director to lead and develop the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services division in the North of England.
This role offers the chance to take ownership of the team's growth, shape its strategic direction, and drive business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and team leadership, while also influencing the company's broader objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage M&E projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
- Conduct Technical Due Diligence (TDD) surveys and produce technical reports.
- Solve complex engineering challenges and provide innovative, practical solutions.
- Develop and nurture long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in line with strategic objectives.
- Ensure the effective implementation of decisions and best practices within the team.
- Serve as a role model, upholding company values and setting performance standards.
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and thought leadership engagements, such as speaking opportunities and published articles.
- Collaborate with internal teams to cross-sell services and maximise business potential.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Identify training needs and support professional development within the team.
- Contribute to and implement key business strategies.

About You:
- Degree-qualified (BEng, BSc, or MEng) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Ideally Chartered (CIBSE, IMechE, or IET).
- Proven experience managing complex projects across both private and public sectors.
- A digitally savvy professional who excels in building strong client relationships and working collaboratively within a team.
- Independent and proactive, yet eager to continue learning and developing.
